Bill Dougherty

Bill Dougherty,  CFP®, CFA, has more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Bill has helped people navigate their investments and understand how those investments impact their lives. From his deep knowledge of capital markets to his belief that investments are the keystone of financial independence, Bill helps individuals and families to clarify their financial goals and create a plan to enrich their lives and the lives of those they care about most.

Throughout his career Bill has helped fee-only wealth advisors and institutions design and implement investment portfolios. He has also educated and advised clients on a variety of wealth management, financial planning, and retirement plan topics.

Prior to joining the JJM Financial Group and Main Street Financial Solutions, Bill held various leadership roles at Hartford Funds. He created and led the Advisory Services Group, which served as the registered investment advisor and bank trust segments, and was head of the defined contribution channel.  Together, these groups were entrusted with more than $20 billion in client assets across equity, alternative, multi-asset, and fixed-income funds.  In 2011, he was named Rising Star of Mutual Funds by Institutional Investor.  Prior to working at Hartford Funds Bill held roles at Charles Schwab, Chartwell Investment Partners, and Delaware Investments.

Bill believes the best way for clients to achieve their financial and life goals is with conflict-free, fee-only advice, serving as a fiduciary in their best interests.

Bill is involved in several charitable and volunteer efforts, including financial literacy and education.  He sits on the Board of Directors for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Philadelphia and is a member of both the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Philadelphia.  He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. He lives in Ambler, PA with his wife and three children.  He enjoys fishing, golfing, and music.
