About Jamal L. Mahmood
Most people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are making some of the biggest financial decisions of their lives at the same time: how to turn savings into retirement income, how to plan for the cost of care as they age, and how to help parents and children along the way. Jamal helps families and individuals evaluate their options and make smart financial decisions.
Jamal began his career in 1998 as an equities trader, then spent eight years at Northwestern Mutual as an insurance agent and wealth management advisor before becoming a CFP® practitioner in 2010. That mix of market, insurance, and planning experience shapes how he sees risk: it’s more than market ups and downs. It’s also a paycheck that stops, a health event, or savings that have to last longer than expected, and he believes planning ahead is the best way to address it. As Director of Insurance Services at Main Street Financial Solutions, he focuses on retirement income planning, insurance and risk management, long-term care planning, and helping clients understand their options with annuities.
Outside of work, Jamal enjoys pickleball, history, and economics, and he’s interested in how changing technology will reshape work and retirement. He lives in Verona, NJ with his wife and two children.
